MEDICAL EDITING SERVICES

I've spent much of my life as a registered nurse and medical professional, successfully managing a broad range of assignments from trauma and critical care medicine to nursing management and home health care.  During this time I also completed two years of pre-med science classes at Purdue University.

Although my nursing career has been both challenging and rewarding, the discovery of a special talent for writing and editing has been my greatest joy.  For the last seven years I've worked as a freelance medical editor and writer.

bullet1.gif (9x9 -- 64 bytes) Nursing 2002 magazine: I've worked with this national publication, for three years as a freelance editor and writer.

bullet1.gif (9x9 -- 64 bytes) Nursing Management magazine: Employed as a freelance editor for this national publication.

bullet1.gif (9x9 -- 64 bytes) Springhouse Publishing: I recently edited questions on critical care nursing for a CD-ROM which will be marketed to student nurses.  I also wrote the first draft of the book, Incredibly Easy Medical Terminology.

bullet1.gif (9x9 -- 64 bytes) Prentice Hall: I completed a 5 month assignment to author 750 test questions for the 6th edition of Fundamentals of Nursing.  The questions appear on Prentice Hall's web site.

bullet1.gif (9x9 -- 64 bytes) Addison Wesley-Longman: Wrote a nursing procedure manual to accompany the book Fundamentals of Nursing.  This assignment included collaboration with artists and authors.

bullet1.gif (9x9 -- 64 bytes) Mosby Yearbook, Inc: Edited and wrote four books in the series "Managing Major Diseases."  This assignment called for extensive writing, organizing, and editing.  Deadlines were tight - a chapter a week for eight months.

bullet1.gif (9x9 -- 64 bytes) Blanchard Leob Publishing: Wrote chapters for Nurse's Drug Looseleaf, the first book published by this new firm.

I look forward to working with you!
